Berlin (Germany), Saturday 14 June 2014
Held in Berlin's most central borough of Mitte, the Lichtenauer Wasserlauf offers a 5k race, a 10k race, and an 800m kids' run.
The 5k is one lap, and the 10k is two laps of a very scenic sightseeing route through the ‘Regierungsviertel’ (government quarter).
Running along both banks of River Spree, participants pass many impressive buildings, for instance the Reichstag, the Bundeskanzleramt (German Chancellery, pictured below), the Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Central Station), or the ‘Haus der Kulturen der Welt’.
