Hohwacht (Germany), Sunday 3 August 2014
The Alpen-Lauf Hohwacht is held in the small and pretty Baltic Sea beach resort of Hohwacht in the state of Schleswig-Holstein in Germany.
The event features two challenging multi-terrain races — approximately 5km and 10km long. Both races are open to runners, walkers, and nordic walkers.
Participants in the 10km race run (or walk) two laps of the 5km route.
Starting at the ‘Edeka Alpen’ supermarket near the beach, the route is very varied and scenic as it runs through dense woods, along sandy beaches, up some stairs to a viewing point on the cliffs, down again, and along the beach promenade to the finish.
The Alpen-Lauf Hohwacht is a charity event. The race organizers will donate one euro for each kilometre that's run or walked.
