The Mandø Marathon draws approximately 500 runners to the little North Sea island of Mandø in Denmark. Located in the Wadden Sea National Park — a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the island is surrounded by vast mudflats and tidal marshes.

At low tide, Mandø can be reached by car or tractor bus via a 4km-long (and 60cm-high) unpaved causeway which connects the island with the Jutland Peninsula.

The event offers a 42.2km marathon, a 21.1km half marathon, a 10.55km quarter marathon, and a 2.2km children's race.

Participants in the full marathon run four laps of a mostly flat route on asphalt and gravel roads around the island. The half marathon is two laps.

The course is certified by the Danish Athletics Association.
