Neustadt in Holstein (Germany), Sunday 3 August 2014
The Europalauf in Germany's northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein draws around 350 runners to Neustadt in Holstein, a small harbour town of 15,000 inhabitants, situated in a popular summer holiday region in the Bay of Lübeck on the Baltic coast.
Entrants can choose between the 7.5km race, which is open to runners, walkers and nordic walkers, or the 21.1km half marathon.
The half marathon is an undulating and very scenic run along the beach promenade, through farmland, and through the resorts of Pelzerhaken and Rettin. The race is run on mixed terrain (asphalt and gravel roads, cycleways, and footpaths).
Participants in the 7.5km race run (or walk) out and back the beach promenade.
