Malente (Germany), Sunday 10 August 2014
Participants in the Diekseelauf run 11.5km of an undulating and very scenic multi-terrain course around the Dieksee, the fourth-largest of about 200 lakes in the 'Holsteinische Schweiz' lakeland region in northern Germany.
Starting and finishing on the lakeside promenade in the resort of Malente, the route is a mix of roads and trails through lovely woods and rolling countryside and through the very pretty village of Timmdorf.
The event also offers a 5km out-and-back run along the lake's southern shore.
