The ‘KVOK’ half marathon in the Czech Republic is held on an out-and-back course that begins and ends in Kolín (pictured below), an industrial town with a well-preserved historic centre, located approximately 60km east of Prague.
Starting at the athletic stadium, which is a 15-minute walk from Kolín's beautiful main square, participants run along the River Elbe (Czech: Labe) and then northwards through rural areas to the turning point in the village of Velký Osek.
The route is certified and flat and fast on asphalt roads and cycleways.
