Organized by the Budapest Athletic Federation, the Budapest Running Festival offers a 10km point-to-point road race through the beautiful city centre of Hungary´s capital, a 10km relay race for teams of two runners (6km + 4km), and a 4km run and walk through the pleasant City Park.

Participants in the 10k race run from Buda (the western part of Budapest) across the River Danube to Pest (the eastern part of the city). The start area is at Vérmező ("Bloodfield"), a park located below Castle Hill. Competitors run across the majestic Chain Bridge (Lánchíd), along Budapest's grandest boulevard (Andrássy út), and finally through the City Park (Városliget).

Last year, well over 1000 runners took part in the 10k race and in the relay. The fastest finishers were Dániel Soós (30:56) and Krisztina Merényi Timea.
