Staged on the northern outskirts of Austria's capital Wien, the Kahlenberglauf features an 8.4km multi-terrain route from the former village of Kahlenbergerdorf on the River Danube to the transmission tower on the summit of the Kahlenberg (484m).
The course includes approximately 500m of ascent and 200m of descent.
After the race, participants take a much shorter route to get down to the award ceremony in Kahlenbergerdorf.
About 170 runners took part in the Kahlenberglauf last year.
