6th "Danube Canal Run" 2013
Vienna (Austria), Sunday 5 May 2013
The Donaukanallauf in Vienna takes runners along both banks of the Donaukanal (Danube Canal) which flows through the city centre of Austria's capital.
Entrants can choose to run either one lap (4.75km) or two laps (9.5km) of a traffic-free and mostly flat course on cycleways and footpaths. A short section is on gravel.
The start and the finish are at the "Strandbar Herrmann" beach bar next to the Urania observatory on the edge of the inner city.
In 2012, about 550 runners took part in the event. The top finishers in the 9.5km race were Grec Iuliu of Romania (33:21) and Susanne Bohdal from Vienna (41:36).
