15th ‘Meissen Night Run’ 2013
Meissen (Germany), Friday 3 May 2013
The Meissner Nachtlauf is a Paarlauf (‘Pair Run’) for two-person relay teams, held on the narrow cobbled streets of the beautiful old town of Meissen.
Situated on the River Elbe, approximately 25 kilometres from the city of Dresden, Meissen is one of the most attractive small towns in eastern Germany.
The route is a challenging 1.1-kilometre loop course though the historic town centre. Each lap features 20 metres of ascent.
The race is 17.6 kilometres long (sixteen laps). Relay partners complete laps in turns, so that each participant runs 8.8 kilometres (eight laps).
Teams can be male, female, or mixed. In 2012, 80 teams competed in the event.
The start and the finish are on Markt, Meissen's main square.
