8. Halbmarathon Kalterer See 2013

The Mezza Maratona Lago di Caldaro draws about 800 runners to Lake Caldaro in South Tyrol, an amazingly beautiful alpine province in the far north of Italy where native speakers of German and Italian live side by side.

Two race distances are on offer—the 21.1km half marathon (two laps around the lake) and the 10.55km "Corsa panoramica" (one lap).

The route is certified, gently undulating, and very scenic. Participants run all the way through orchards, vineyards and lovely scenery.

In 2012, the fastest half marathon finishers were Hannes Rungger (1:08:33) and Monica Carlin (1:24:18).

Entries (10.5km "Gara non competitiva"): fun run without time-keeping; entries on the day
