Verona (Italy), Sunday 2 June 2013
Held in the old city of Verona in northern Italy, the Straverona attracts more than 10,000 fun runners and walkers each year.
As the Straverona is a "manifestazione non competitiva" finishing times will not be recorded, and there will be no results lists.
Participants can choose between three routes — 5km, 13km, and 21km.
Start and finish are at the Arena, Verona's gigantic Roman amphitheatre, situated on Piazza Bra in the beautiful historic city centre.
The 5km route is a flat loop through the old town whereas the 13km and 21km routes go up and down the hills north of the city.
Although the entry fees are very low (between two and seven euros) all participants get a goodie bag and free entry to Verona's grandest monuments and museums.
