Participants in the Parndorfer Strassenlauf 10k road race run three laps of a flat and fast, AIMS-certified course through Parndorf, a village of about 4000 people, situated in Austria's Burgenland state between Vienna, Bratislava and Lake Neusiedl.
The event also features a 3.3k run, a 6.6k team run, children's races, and a 6k nordic walking competition.
Over 320 runners from nine countries took part in the event last year. Elisha Kiprotich Sawe of Kenya won the 10k in a time of 30min 21sec. Fruszina Szekeresné Bakonyi of Hungary was the first woman across the line (38min 3sec).
