Innichen (Italy) - Sillian (Austria), Saturday 29 June 2013
The race begins in Innichen (San Candido) in South Tyrol, Italy.
The Hochpustertal Run begins in South Tyrol in Italy and ends in East Tyrol in Austria. About 350 runners from nine countries took part in the event last year.
Entrants can choose to run the 12.1km "Classic Run" or the half marathon.
Both races are held on the cycleway that runs along the Hochpustertal — a green alpine valley in the Eastern Dolomites, situated at an elevation of over 1000 metres.
The start is in the resort of Innichen (Italian: San Candido) in Italy's autonomous province of South Tyrol, where most people speak German as a first language.
The finish line is in the small town of Sillian in Austria.
The course is gently undulating and a bit downhill. From start to finish, it drops about 90 metres in elevation.
All competitors run together to Sillian but then the half marathon runners continue to run out and back to the village of Tassenbach, partly on gravel.
