Participants in the Faaker See Lauf run either one lap (10.55km "Panoramalauf") or two laps (21.1km half marathon) around the Faaker See, a popular summer holiday destination in Austria's state of Kärnten (Carinthia).

Last year, around 700 took part in the races, many of them holidaymakers and runners from neighbouring countries.

Free access to the lake is very limited, and only a short section of the course runs along the lakeshore. Nevertheless, the course is very attractive as it takes runners through fine scenery and very pretty villages.

The route is traffic-free, certified, and challenging with some testing hills on the western shore of the lake. Approximately one kilometre is on forest trails.
