Held for the 66th time this year, the road running race from Devín Castle (pictured) to Slovakia's capital Bratislava attracts a crowd of more than 5000 runners.
The route is 11625 metres long. Young athletes and hobby runners run 2600 metres.
Competitors can use the free bus service from Bratislava to get to the start at the impressive ruins of Devín Castle which played a prominent role in the history of Slovakia and which is regarded by many as a symbol of Slovak nationhood.
The castle sits on a steep rock at the confluence of two rivers that form the border with Austria — the Morava and the Danube.
The route follows the River Danube to the finish line in the city centre of Bratislava.
