Landshut (Germany), Sunday 21 April 2013
Landshut läuft ("Landshut runs") either 5km, 10km, or a half marathon along the River Isar which flows through the beautiful old city of Landshut, home to 65000 people, situated in Niederbayern (Lower Bavaria), approximately 75km from Munich.
The start and finish are on the athletics track at the eastern end of Mitterwöhr, a 3km-long island in the river. The route follows riverside footpaths and cycleways (gravel and asphalt) around the island, across four bridges in the city centre, and through lovely woods west of Landshut.
The entry fees of 19 euros for adults will be donated to charity.
Last year, Landshut läuft had over 600 participants. The fastest half marathon finishers were Christian Puricelli (1:16:55) and Angela Kühnlein (1:29:56)
