The 25km Trofeo del Custoza replaces the popular 42.2km Maratona del Custoza, which was held in the Custoza wine-growing region near Verona for twelve years.
The start and the finish will be again in the lovely park of the Villa Venier in the village of Sommacampagna, which is situated in the rolling hills between Verona and Lake Garda.
Participants will run an undulating, very scenic loop through vineyards, fields and woods. Half of the route will be on asphalt roads, and half on dirt roads and trails.
The entry fees are low, all runners will be awarded three bottles of the locally-produced Bianco di Custoza wine, and after the race there will be a pasta party in the park.
On the same day, thousands of walkers and fun runners will take part in the non-competitive Marciarena, which offers three routes (6km, 11km and 17km).
