The Halbmarathon Hall-Wattens in Austria offers two attractive running routes (4.8km and 21.3km) in the Inn River Valley, near the city of Innsbruck in Tyrol.

Start and finish are on the main square of Hall in Tirol, a historic salt-mining town with a large number of late-medieval buildings, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery.

The 21.3km race (which is slightly longer than the half marathon distance) consists of two different undulating loops (4.8km + 16.5km).

Participants run through Hall's very pretty old town centre (partly on cobblestones), through the castle of "Burg Hasegg", on a bikeway along the River Inn, through villages and rural areas, and through the town of Wattens which is widely known for its "Swarovski Crystal Worlds" visitor centre.

Most of the course is on asphalt. Approximately 2.5km are on dirt roads.

Last year, around 600 runners took part in the event. The fastest 21K finishers were Silvia Olejarova (1:27:46) and Thomas Kandler (1:19:56).
