'Troika Run' 2012
Ljubljana (Slovenia), Saturday 12 May 2012
With around 5,000 participants, the Tek trojk in Ljubljana is Slovenia's second-biggest running event.
Competitors must form a team of three runners (male, female, or mixed). All three team members run the full distance, and all three must cross the finish line together!
The event offers a 12.5km race and a 29km race. Children run 3km.
The start and finish are in Ljubljana's beautiful pedestrianized historic centre.
The route runs through the old town, through residential areas, and across the densely wooded Golovec hill. Parts of the course are on dirt roads.
The Tek trojk has a special atmosphere as it forms part of the annual celebrations that commemorate the liberation of Ljubljana at the end of World War Two.
