28th Pécs-Harkány Road Running Race 2012
The 25km road race from the city of Pécs to the spa town of Harkány is a long-standing and prestigious event in the Hungarian running calendar.
Last year's winners were Ashenafi Erkolo of Ethiopia (1:19:43) and Hungary's elite distance runner Simona Staicu (1:32:13).
The event also offers a 25km relay race for teams of three runners.
The start is in the southern part of Pécs, one of Hungary's oldest cities. Participants run southwards along an undulating country road. The finish line is at the thermal baths in Harkány. The course is not closed to traffic.
After the race, runners get free entry to the spa with its large indoor and outdoor pools, before a bus brings them back to Pécs.
