The popular Oxigén Kupa trail running race series in the city of Debrecen in eastern Hungary comprises six events from October to March.
With up to 400 and more participants in each event, the Oxigén Kupa forms an important part of the Hungarian running calendar.
All races take place in the protected Great Forest (Nagyerdő), situated on the northern edge of Debrecen. The route is a mildly undulating loop, which is approximately 2.5km long (2436 metres, to be precise).
Competitors run either two loops (ca. 5km) or four loops (ca. 10km). Children run shorter distances (1.5km and 2.5km). The event does not charge any entry fees.
Due to severe winter weather, the 5th race of the series has been postponed from 4 February to 3 March 2012!
