36th "New Year's Eve Run Vienna" 2012

Starting at 11am on New Year's Eve, the annual Wiener Silvesterlauf features a scenic 5.4-kilometre loop course around Vienna's city centre.
Last year, the race had over 3000 participants.
Most of the race is run on the imperial Ringstrasse which is lined with grandiose buildings such as the Hofburg, the Austrian Parliament buildings, the Rathaus, the State Opera House, the University, the Burgtheater, churches and museums.
