14° 3/4 Mezza Maratona 2012
Bruneck/Brunico (Italy), Saturday 25 August 2012
Schloss Neuhaus — just one of the castles along the route.
Participants in the 3/4 Halbmarathon run 17.6 kilometres (ca. 11 miles) of an undulating point-to-point route along the Tauferer Tal, a valley in Italy's alpine province of South Tyrol, where most people speak German as a first language.
The route runs from the attractive small town of Bruneck (Brunico) to the finish line in the holiday and ski resort of Sand in Taufers (Campo Tures).
Most of the race is run on roads and cycleways. A short section is on a trail. Snow-capped mountain peaks and several castles on the hillsides provide an impressive backdrop to the course.
Over 500 runners finished the race last year. The winners were South Tyrols top runners Hannes Rungger (0:58:36) and Agnes Tschurtschenthaler (1:03:17).
Start of the race is in Bruneck (Brunico).
