Mölln (Germany), Saturday 25 August 2012
The Möllner City-Lauf in northern Germany features a 12k and a 4k run, as well as children's races and a 9.4k route for walkers and nordic walkers.
The race is held on a 4-kilometre loop course through Mölln, a town of 18,000 people, situated approximately 50km east of Hamburg.
Mölln is a very pretty old town, surrounded by a number of lakes. Participants run along the shores of two lakes, along a moat, through the Kurpark, and through the town centre. Parts of the course are run on cobbles and on gravel paths. The route is mildly undulating.
Last year, over 600 runners and walkers took part in the event. The 12k winners were Claudius Michalak (41:06) and Anette Paap (51:42).
