Neustadt in Holstein (Germany), Sunday 5 August 2012
The Europalauf in Germany's northernmost state of Schleswig-Holstein offers a half marathon, a 7.5-kilometre route for runners and nordic walkers, and a kids' run.
Start and finish are in the town of Neustadt in Holstein, situated in a popular summer holiday region in the Bay of Lübeck on the Baltic coast.
The half marathon is an undulating and very scenic run on a mix of asphalt and dirt roads, cycleways and footpaths. Parts of the route are run on the beach promenade.
Last year's Europalauf had approximately 200 participants. The half marathon winners were Dennis Mehlfeld (1:10:47) and Anke Tiedemann (1:23:08).
