12ª Maratonina "Città di Udine" 2011
Udine (Italy), Sunday 25 September 2011
The Maratonina di Udine is one of the top half marathons in the Run International Race Guide.
Many world-class distance runners have taken part in the race, which features a mildly undulating but very fast course. The course records are held by Kenya's Benson Barus (59:41) and Margaret Okayo (1:07:23). Last year's half marathon had over 1300 finishers, and several hundred took part in the non-competitive 7K "Straudine" fun run.
The start and finish are in the very appealing historic centre of Udine, an old city of art and culture with a population of about 100,000 people, located on the Friulian Plain in the north-east of Italy. The route runs through residential and industrial areas north of Udine and then along the ring road that encircles Udine's city centre.
