Maribor Half Marathon and 10K Race
Maribor (Slovenia), Sunday 18 September 2011
Over 800 runners took part in last year's first ‘Eko Maraton’ in Maribor, Slovenia's second-largest city with a population of about 95,000.
The event comprises a 10K race and a half marathon, held on an undulating and traffic-free course.
Starting and finishing on the edge of the Old Town, the route is a single loop that takes runners through various parts of Maribor. Half marathon runners cross the River Drava four times.
In 2010, the half marathon winners were Robert Kotnik (1:09:49) and Daneja Grandovec (1:25:07), multiple Slovenian marathon champion from Maribor.
