4th ‘Castle Run’ 2011
Otočec (Slovenia), Sunday 9 October 2011
Held in the lovely Krka River Valley in Slovenia's Dolenjska region, about halfway between Ljubljana and Zagreb, the Grajski tek features an undulating and very scenic 8.4km multi-terrain route on asphalt roads, gravel roads and trails.
The start and the finish are at the sports centre near Otočec Castle, which sits on a little island in the River Krka.
Participants run across the wooden bridges at the castle, along the river and across a golf course, and past Struga Castle which stands on a terrace close to the river.
In 2010, the winners were 19-year-old Miha Povšič (27:15) and 14-year-old Sara Karlovšek (32:59).
