16th ‘Run along the Wine Road’ 2011
Bušeča vas (Slovenia), Sunday 16 October 2011
The Tek po vinski cesti features a hilly 9.65km route around the village of Bušeča vas, situated in the lovely Krka River Valley in south-eastern Slovenia, about 40km from Croatia's capital Zagreb.
The start and finish are at the rustic thermal spa of Klunove Toplice, near the river. Competitors run through fields, woods, vineyards and villages, mostly on paved roads.
The event includes a 1800-metre run, children's races and a guided walk.
Last year, on a cold and rainy day, just over 100 runners took part in the event, which is less than half than the year before. The top finishers were Jan Breznik (33:03) and Mateja Šuštaršič (41:45).
