Corso Vittorio Emanuele, Pordenone, Italy (Hendrik Böttger / runinternational.eu)

Participants will run along Corso Vittorio Emanuele in the centre of Pordenone

The Maratonina dei Borghi takes runners through several borghi (districts) of Pordenone, a town of 50,000, situated on the Friulian Plain in the north-east of Italy.

Starting and finishing in the town centre, the very mildly undulating route winds its way through residential quarters, rural areas, and the industrial part of town.

Towards the end of the race, competitors run along the picturesque Corso Vittorio Emanuele with its many fine palazzi and arcades.

In 2010, the winners were Taoufique El Barhoumi of Morocco (1:04:57) and Uganda's former world steeplechase champion Dorcus Inzikuru (1:16:52).
