Once again, a mix of runners, shoppers and drinkers will cram the streets of Udine when the annual Gazzetta Run will take place on 14 May 2011 in this old Friulian city of art and culture in north-eastern Italy.

Named after the Italian sports tabloid ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, the race is the second of a series of eight running events, held between April and October in eight different cities and towns of Italy.

The main race is the 10k which consists of three laps. The start is at 8pm.

Two hours earlier starts the 6.7k run (two laps, non-competitive, without timekeeping) which is also open to runners who are not in possession of a medical certificate.

The route runs entirely through the inner city, passing many of Udine's well-preserved historic buildings. Some sections are on cobblestones.

In 2010, the course was a bit shorter than 10k. The winners were Stefano Guidotti (27:53) and Isidora Castellani (32:12).
