10th ‘Bovec Run’ 2011
Bovec (Slovenia), Sunday 1 May 2011
The Bovški tek is held in the beautiful Soča River Valley in the Julian Alps in Slovenia. The event offers various trail races up to 10km long. The start and the finish are on the grassy airfield of the ski and holiday resort of Bovec.
The hard-fought children's races (pictured) take place on the airfield.
Participants in the very flat 3.2km race run one loop on grass trails around the airfield.
The 10km race, which attracted around 150 runners last year, is the most popular distance. The route is very challenging as it takes the runners down to the River Soča which flows around 100 metres below the airfield.
Most of the route is on trails. Approximately 700 metres are on roads.
In 2010, the 10k winners were Marko Vojska (35:49) and Sergeja Lipušček (42:50).
