20th ‘Run through Panovec’ 2011
Nova Gorica (Slovenia), Sunday 27 February 2011
Every year, the 10K multi-terrain race through Panovec Forest attracts runners from many parts of Slovenia as well as from Italy. The Italian border is just a stone's throw away.
Located on the edge of the town of Nova Gorica, which is about 25 kilometers from the Adriatic coast, Panovec is a lovely forest, popular for its many different species of trees.
The race follows an undulating course, mostly on dirt roads and trails. Only the first and the last 500 metres are on asphalt.
In 2010, the winners were Tomaž Ferjančič (32:31) and Mateja Golenač (37:29).
