10th Advent Run Podersdorf 2011
Podersdorf am See (Austria), Sunday 11 December 2011
Held annually shortly before Christmas, the Adventlauf brings runners to Austria's largest lake, the Neusiedler See, which is located in a wind-prone region on the border with Hungary.
The start and the finish are in the town centre of Podersdorf, a resort on the eastern shore of the lake.
The event comprises a 5.8km run (which consists of three laps), children's races, and a 4.3km loop for nordic walkers.
Over 200 runners, a fair number of them Hungarian athletes, took part in last year's Adventlauf. The top finishers in the 5.8K Hauptlauf were Attila Czindrity of Hungary (19:01) and Elisabeth Pöltner of Austria (21:56).
