This 12K trail race around Lake Bohinj, Slovenia's largest lake, attracts around 500 runners. Competitors run one loop around the lake, mostly through forests close to the shore.

Situated in the heart of the Julian Alps, Lake Bohinj is over four kilometres long and up to 1200 metres wide. Its clear, cold waters are wonderful for a swim on a hot summer's day.

Along the northern shore the route runs along a narrow trail with lots of roots and rocks. Then, along the southern shore, participants run on the smooth, mildly undulating footpath beside the road.

Last year's winners were Jan Breznik (36:42) and Valerija Mrak (43:13).
