Belluno (Italy), Sunday 12 December 2010
Those who still express doubts as to the existence of Santa Claus are advised to attend the Santa Klaus Running, to be held in the town of Belluno in northern Italy on 12 December 2010.
Hundreds of Santa Clauses, all dressed in red shirts and caps, will run a half marathon race, and many more will take part in the non-competitive 6k and 12k runs.
The half marathon follows a challenging, undulating route, partly through the town and partly through fields and villages. Some sections are on trails.
At registration, all entrants get their Santa Claus dress which they have to wear during the race.
In 2009, the fastest Santa was Jilali Jamali of Morocco (1:09:09). Giovanna Ricotta was the first Santa Claudia (1:24:09).
