Vienna (Austria), Sunday 17 November 2013
The Leopoldilauf is held in honour of Saint Leopold III, patron saint of Austria and of Vienna, whose feast day is on November 15th.
Staged on a 7km loop course in the vast Prater park in Vienna, the event offers a 7k, a 14k, and a half marathon. The course is certified, pancake-flat, and traffic-free.
The start and finish are on Prater Hauptallee, an over 4km-long avenue through the park. The route passes Vienna's famous Giant Ferris Wheel (pictured).
Participants can use the showers and changing facilities of the LCC athletic club at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, Austria's national stadium which is just around the corner.
