36th Supermarathon Zagreb Čazma 2011
Zagreb (Croatia), Sunday 20 March 2011
The start is on Zagreb's main square, Trg bana Jelačića.
After a one-year break, the Supermaraton from Croatia's capital Zagreb to the small hill town of Čazma is back on the calendar. The route is 61.35 kilometres long.
Over the years, many of Europe's top ultra marathon runners have taken part in the race.
Nevertheless, with just about 50 finishers it's a small event - although there are no entry fees but plenty of prizes, free lunch after the race, and a free bus service back to Zagreb in the afternoon.
Start is on Trg bana Jelačića, Zagreb's main square. The first 27 kilometres are run on a busy main road, which is very mildly undulating.
After that, there's much less traffic on the roads but the route becomes more challenging. The toughest part is the last kilometre which climbs up to the finish line in Čazma.
In 2009, the winners were Norbert Persely of Hungary (3:54:43) and Marija Vrajić of Croatia (4:43:36).
